Meet Your Host: Meg Feeney

With 25 years of teaching experience, my mission has remained the same: to lift others up and empower them with meaningful insights, skills, and tools that help them tap into their sense of agency and capability.

  • After earning my degree in Psychology and Education from McGill University, I spent several years as a preschool teacher. In 2012, my path shifted into the world of movement education, where I’ve been fully immersed ever since — exploring the body and helping others connect to theirs.

That path began with Essentrics®, where I had the privilege of training directly under its creator, Miranda Esmonde-White—a formative experience that gave me a deep foundation not only in the method but also in understanding the body, instilling in me a deep respect and lasting appreciation for intelligent, accessible movement. I went on to become a Master Trainer, global TV host for their streaming platform, and a key contributor to the Aging Backwards® curriculum—a science-backed approach to movement designed to help people stay youthful, mobile, and pain-free as they age. Over the past twelve years, I’ve led thousands of classes, teacher trainings, and workshops, and taken part in more than 15 international retreats at prestigious venues with the Essentrics team. My time there transformed the way I understand aging and how I approach the body—and provided me with the loyal and beloved community of friends, fans and followers that I will forever be grateful for.

Building on that foundation, I’ve continued to explore movement through different lenses. After completing my Mat Pilates Instructor Training with Balanced Body®, I developed newfound core and hip strength, which I’ve since integrated into my work with seniors—focusing on pain relief, improved function, and overall well-being. It’s something I’m especially excited to share during our time together. Each new perspective—whether physical or through meditation, mindfulness, and breathwork—adds depth to my teaching and allows me to better support the people I work with.

Across the many demographics, modalities, and platforms I’ve taught, I’ve always been committed to creating spaces where people feel safe, curious, free, and truly cared for—something I aim for you to experience throughout this retreat. As an avid cyclist, swimmer, and someone who treasures her personal nature practices, I’m excited to create an experience that weaves together the things I love and consider as the core pillars of wellness I live by.

To top it off, I’m honoured to share this space with my co-host—and introduce you to one of my closest friends in the world—my sister. (Get to meet Ali below). We can’t wait to create the most memorable, engaging, FUN and rewarding experience for you. Thanks for being part of it.

Get a Feel for How We’ll Move

Designed & Aligned With Your Health Goals

Meg’s classes are expertly led and intentionally crafted to support the needs of midlife and beyond. Each session targets common age-related concerns—such as low back pain, posture, stiff shoulders, sore knees, and truly all joint-related issues—while also enhancing what’s already working well in your body to support longevity, independence and confidence in movement and help you thrive in the freedom that comes with feeling good in your body.

Movement Style

The movement style is rooted in Essentrics®, a dynamic technique that helps unlock tight joints, rebalance the body, and build strength through length. This is thoughtfully complemented by Pilates-based functional strength work, focusing on your core and glutes to support posture, stability, and ease in daily life. Everything is low-impact, controlled, and restorative—designed to build strength without strain. We’ll weave in mindful breathing and deep, therapeutic stretching to help release fascial tension and improve your full range of motion, alongside moments of meditative stillness to leave you feeling peaceful, calm, energized, and strong.

Knowledge that moves you

You’ll also enjoy three specialty workshops integrated into our extended morning sessions. These will deepen your understanding of key topics and inspire greater connection to your movement practice.

Moving with Nature

Many of our sessions—including serene sunset practices—will take place on Predator Ridge’s flagship Lavender Platform, nestled in a fragrant 3.5-acre meadow filled with 1,800 lavender plants and overlooking sweeping views of the Okanagan Valley. We'll ground, expand and connect in meaningful ways with awe-inspiring nature as our guide.

  • New to Essentrics®, Pilates, or group movement? You’re warmly welcomed. If you haven’t tried these techniques—or attended a retreat like this before—you’re in the right place. Meg is highly skilled at guiding all levels in a shared space and offering thoughtful modifications. If you’d like a more personal introduction, you’re invited to book a Discovery Call or reach out via email. This experience is all about meeting your body where it is—with kindness, expertise, and intention.

Meet Your Co-Host: Ali Feeney

I’m excited to make sure every aspect of this retreat embodies the essence of aging with vitality, purpose, and joy. My goal is for each participant to leave inspired, supported, and more connected to the incredible journey ahead—and, of course, to have a whole lot of fun along the way!

  • From an early age, I discovered my love for event planning while helping my mom bring her beautifully themed birthday parties and family celebrations to life. That passion has only grown over the years. With over two decades of event planning experience—largely in the academic and not-for-profit sectors—I’m most passionate about crafting experiences that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful.

After living out west for ten years, I fell in love with the Okanagan Valley—its stunning lakes, warm summer days, and breathtaking wineries. It has become a cherished summer destination for my family. It’s our happy place, full of sunshine, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Creating a fitness and wellness retreat here at Predator Ridge with my sister feels like the perfect full-circle moment—a chance to share this magical corner of Canada with others, and to help people reconnect with themselves and with nature in one of the most beautiful places I know.

Meg and I thought of every detail to make this retreat feel effortless, restorative, and full of joy. All you have to do is show up—we'll take care of the rest. I can’t wait to meet you and share this unforgettable experience together!

  • “Did Meg's class today. Fabulous!! So specific, really helped connect mind/body/intention which brought the class to a higher level. And she pushes you in such a sweet way! What a wonderful teacher. I’m so grateful.”

    — WENDY

  • “Hi Meg, your programs on EssentricsTV are exceptional, your words are in perfect sync with the exercises. I’m smiling with you and follow every movement and cue. I’ve been a subscriber for many, many years and I’m possibly your mom’s age. I am curious to know what kind of educational pathway you have followed and what your professional activity was before becoming a master trainer at Essentrics. There’s something in the quality of your instruction—the clarity, care, and depth of presence—that truly resonates. Thank you for being you.”

    — JOAN

  • "Just wanted you to know how much I enjoy and look forward to your live classes. You seem so at peace; while also being positive, reassuring, motivating, and instructive! I’ve been following the program for around 18 months. You are definitely appreciated! "

    — FREDERICK

  • "I have been living with fibromyalgia for 13 years now. I have been exercising twice a week for the past 2 years. Never have i ended a workout and started crying from the release of my body and release of pain in my body. Thank you Meg. I know this will be very good in helping release my whole body and toning my muscles. I’m very grateful."

    — OLIVIA H.

  • "Meg did an amazing job during today’s live session — hands down, one of the best classes I've taken online and one of the best Essentrics instructors! She effortlessly moved us through a flow that released muscles first thing in morning, woke them up and also worked them! She guided the entire time, always reminding us to breathe."

    — NADIA A.

  • "Meg's class was incredible! The cues she gave were excellent. I have been doing Essentrics for over 3 years, but she made me realize I have yet to learn so much.

    — KEIKO M.

  • "I started doing Classical Stretch in 2014 with PBS or CDs, and now I use the streaming app. Thank you Meg for the live class recently when you showed us how we should tuck under without pushing our knees forward. How helpful. I've been doing it wrong and this feels much better. I turned 74 this month and these classes have kept me fit & active. I can walk for miles! There is always something to learn and Meg has a special way of getting the message through.”

    — KATHY

  • “What a great class, Meg! I loved everything about it - the scenery, your energy, your instructions and visualizations, your motivation and encouragement and most especially your great sense of humor. You had me laughing out loud and not taking it all so seriously! The 30 minutes flew by so fast. Can't wait for your next series.”

    — LOUISE

  • "I wanted to share how much Meg’s workout meant to me. I was thrilled to take a break from my busy day and spend time in the beauty of Costa Rica. The setting added so much to the movements as did Meg’s wonderful choreography and thoughtful comments. Thank you for this gift!"

    — DANA L.B.

  • Not at all! This retreat is designed to be flexible and supportive. We will always encourage doing what feels right for you—whether that’s joining a class, taking a morning off to enjoy the scenery, playing a round of golf or pickleball with your partner, or simply relaxing, that’s all part of making the retreat your own

And if you’re coming with a partner who doesn’t plan to participate in the classes, that’s perfectly fine! We’d love to have them attend and enjoy everything else the retreat has to offer. (Chances are, they may be tempted to join in once they see the view and hear about how great everyone feels afterward! But there’s no pressure or expectation).

  • This retreat is as active—or as relaxed—as you’d like it to be. We’ve scheduled eight movement classes across the five days, each varying in length and focus. The energy and intensity of each class are thoughtfully tailored to the group—considering the time of day, how everyone is feeling, and what else is planned. For example, our first evening session will offer gentle, rebalancing movement and restorative stretches to help ease travel tension and help you settle in comfortably!

You’re welcome to join our walking group or take one of our mini shuttle rides to or from the platform. Whatever feels right for you, we’ve got you covered.

You’re also free to join as many—or as few—of the optional activities and outings as you like. Everything is designed to meet you where you are!

  • We designed the retreat experience with your arrival and departure needs in mind. To help you plan your travel around the full experience, here’s what to know:

We’ll meet at 5:30pm for group hello’s and a walk to the Lavender Platform , where we’ll share our first class together—a rebalancing travel stretch session surrounded by rolling hills, blooming lavender, and sweeping views of the Okanagan. With the sun setting over the mountains, it's going to be a beautiful, memorable and relaxing way to begin. Afterwards, we’ll head to The Range for welcome cocktails and appetizers with your choice of dinner.

Friday, Day 5: Departure Day & Send-Off Stretch
Our final morning is designed to support a calm, easy departure—with space to stretch, eat, and say our heartfelt goodbyes.

  • We understand how important it is to feel safe, supported, and cared for—especially when it comes to your health. We're committed to creating an inclusive retreat environment where everyone's needs are respected. Upon registration, you’ll receive an intake form where you can share any dietary restrictions, allergies, medical conditions, or other personal needs. This information helps us plan appropriately and ensure your comfort and safety throughout the retreat.

Additionally, during your 1:1 virtual retreat prep call with Meg, you’ll have the chance to discuss any specific considerations in more detail. This allows us to be fully informed and equipped to offer thoughtful modifications—whether related to meals, movement, or your overall experience—with sensitivity and care.

If you have specific dietary requirements, including kosher needs, please don't hesitate to reach out for more detailed information or assistance.

  • Great news, you can travel light! Predator Ridge offers all recreational equipment for rent, so you can enjoy your favorite activities without the need to bring your own gear. However, if you prefer to use your own, feel free to bring it along and save the rental fees. We’ll set you up with their rec department once you’re registered so you can get all the info on rates and options (which are very reasonable!).

  • No need to pack heavy! Mats, blocks, and straps will be provided so you can travel light. If you have a favorite mat or a certain prop that makes movement more comfortable, feel free to bring them—but they're entirely optional.

  • We’re so excited to offer these two optional outings—they’re incredible ways to experience the beauty of the land, soak in the essence of the West Coast, and see a different side of the region. Once you’ve registered for the retreat, we’ll send you full details and the sign-up page to help you plan your perfect add-on adventure. Sign-up anytime by September 8th.
